This is Red Hat 6.2, gcc-2.95.2 on a SS4; cdrom + isofs as modules.
When I try to read a particular CD-ROM (probably bad), the light of the
drive flickers a few times and then stays on. The window where I do this
freezes, and slowly the rest of the system goes the same way in a minute or
so. The CD is on SCSI id 6; but complaints about SCSI id 3 (internal disk,
which is OK) appear on the console (nothing in the logs, unfortunately)
before the system finally freezes completely and has to be turned off.
This machine is oldish, and this might be bad hardware; but I doubt that.
Sorry for the vague report, can't fool around with this machine too much
right now.
