Hi all,
Here's a driver I hacked up for the watchdog timer on a 6020
SBC I got my hands on.
I tested this with success on the 6020 card, but I would guess
that it should work on other 60XX cards as well, but I cannot
test that myself. If anyone out there has such a beast and
has the time to test out this driver, I'd very much appreciate
it.
The driver is placed among the other WDT drivers, under
character device drivers, *HOWEVER* this is *NOT* a character
device driver (!) Where should I put the driver ??
The driver uses timers to pulse the WDT instead of relying
on a userspace program writing to /dev/watchdog. This is the
only sane choice (or ?) since the WDT has a timeout of one
second only.
Can this go into 2.2 at some point Alan ? It's really non-intrusive,
and very simple.
Patch against 2.2.15pre16 attached.
