440MX Support on linux

I've got a laptop Nec Versa Note 2000.
I have a lot of problems with it.
It is equiped with the new chipset 440MX from Intel.
Is there any support for this chipset in linux.
Basically, the boot says :
Unknow IDE controler.
I had to disable all the power management else it freeze rock solid.

I'd like to know if there is some beta, alpha,pre-alpha (pre-hack :) to make
it work at minimal functionality level.
