2.2.14 lockups

Hi,

I have two machines that are locking up with 2.2.14. The dual-PPro 200MHz
seems to lock up more often than the Pentium-II 300Mhz. I've built
a uniprocessor kernel for the dual-PPro, which doesn't seem to have
helped. I've appended both systems full hardware configs below.

By "lockup", I mean the machines lock solid -- even the keyboard
leds don't respond. Both machines were stable and happy with 2.0.36.

I read Patrick's note about "SMP kernel lockup, 2.2.14 and 2.2.15pre15",
where he speculated that anonymous memory usage might be the culprit.
I _am_ seeing this message in dmesg output:
fd_offset is not blocksize aligned. Loading imagemap in anonymous memory.

...so could this be part of the problem?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to how I can figure out
what the machine was doing when it dies, I'd appreciate it. My
first step is to turn off the screen blanking, in the off chance
the kernel screams before it dies.

Thanks,

 -Scott
