If at all possible, try using hashed directories. In stead of /home/ahu,
you'd use /home/23/45/ahu, where those numbers are calculated using some
kind of hashing function.

Lots of people are using Reiserfs in production systems, so it appears to
work fine. I sincerely hope that it will be merged somewhere around 2.4.x.
