In Linux you can do that by assigning multiple interfaces the same address.
This is possible since in the routing table you dont have to give the ip
address of the interface as the gateway for interface routes, but you can
directly tell the kernel which interface (by name) to use. An automatic
alias (i.e. use always the ip of eth0) is not possible afaik, but u dont
need that very often, i think.
