Hi,

Here's the log you asked for from /var/adm/messages. First I said
"cardctl eject" then "cardctl insert"

May 31 18:14:50 kingofswing kernel: cs: cb_free(bus 2)
May 31 18:14:55 kingofswing cardmgr[50]: initializing socket 0
May 31 18:14:55 kingofswing cardmgr[50]: unsupported card in socket 0
May 31 18:14:55 kingofswing kernel: cs: cb_alloc(bus 2): vendor 0x9004,
device 0x6075
May 31 18:14:56 kingofswing cardmgr[50]: no product info available

This is now with 2.4.0-test1-ac6 (note that the build reports itself to
be -ac5).

apa1480_stub.c distributed with the -ac6 sources is 1.19 2000/02/14

the one with pcmcia-cs-3.1.15 is 1.31 2000/04/26 - I've tried both with
the same results (that is, building just my kernel and installing it and
its modules, then building the kernel, installing its modules, then
building the pcmcia kit and installing it).

Maybe you want to submit a change to the kernel folks to keep them in
sync?

There are two options for bridge support in the kernel config, i82365
compatible bridge support, which I was using on ac4, and Databook TCIC
host bridge support. I've tried both those on ac6.

When my machine boots I get a message about the cardbus controller being
a texas instruments PCI 1211.

My laptop is described at http://www.goingware.com/laptop

Anything you want me to do to look into this, I'm happy to help.
