I rebuilt my tree from a backup.gz and patched to pre9, then applied the
kernel/2.4/patch-2.4.0test1 patch and all is fine. testing/pre10-3.bz2
changes the version to 2.4.0 test1 also, but it is not the same patch as
evidenced by the size.
