Unless it has changed recently, the MkLinux port runs on top of the
MACH microkernel. I believe there are platforms where this same
Linux is used over a MACH.
I do have an innocent question, though: Does the introduction of
modules mean that Linux is no longer a purely 'monolithic' kernel but
is now a kind of middle ground between a monolithic and microkernel?
Modules are technically inside kernelspace, but subject to access
controls and abstract APIs.
