[1.] One line summary of the problem:
Often switching from X to VC/VT will cause screen to be blank or dim. 'reset'
fixes.
[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
I start X. Do some work. Move to a VC without X to do some different work. Go
back to X. Do some more. Then I go back to VC whether it is a logged in one or
not and I have a blank or dim screen. reset at the shell prompt fixes them all.
[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel):
X, virtual terminal, screen, black/blank, dim, dark

19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #9 Wed Jul 12 17:49:15 EDT 2000
[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information
resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt)
no oopses it seems
[6.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the
problem (if possible)
usually I am doing a make on the non-X terminal
[7.] Environment

P.S. I might be the only one having this problem. I didn't use 2.4.0test2 but
2.4.0test1 was fine... all test3's and 4's I have tried are bad.
