For me it happens with a TNT2, X 4.01, nx drivers, gnome, sawfish,
agpart for Via 8xxxx, but no console framebuffer since 2.4.0test4 I think
(I couldn't compile test3, some missing priority struct-entry in timer.c).
Do you need more details?
