Clock halt on suspend

I have a notebook running linux kernel 2.4.0-test1 and have a problem
with the system clock in a Sony VAIO PCG-Z505G/BP (Japan model). When I
suspend by giving the power button a flick, everything suspends just
fine. Additionally, when pressing a key or the power button again, the
system comes right back just fine. However, the system clock says that
no time has elapsed since suspension. The only way I have found to fix
this is to resync the system clock with the hardware clock using the
hwclock program. Has anyone else seen this problem or have a
fix/workaround?

Thanks.

ps. Sorry for the co.jp address; I hope I don't get filtered :)
