Hi,
I'm getting
VM: do_try_to_free_pages failed for ... (smbd, XFree, etc, etc)
I compiled the kernel with gcc version 2.95.2, it's running on a
Celeron (Mendocino) with 64MB RAM, 128 MB swap.
This mainly happens in OOM situations (eg, a bug in a script exhausted
the swap and crashed the machine), but today it crashed during normal
desktop usage (just running Netscape, a huge memory hog, btw).
Also, cdplay (from cdtool) used to work with 2.2.16, but now doesn't
anymore:
$ strace cdplay
.

write(2, "cdplay: ioctl cdromplaytrkind\n", 30cdplay: ioctl

) = 30
_exit(1) = ?
Is cdtool broken? Is there any way I can help to track the vm problem?
Thanks,
