IDE cd burners talk ATAPI. ATAPI is just a scsi variant. SCSI won the battle
at the protocol level
IDE ATAPI is SCSI protocol subset
SCSI bus is SCSI protocol
USB mass storage is SCSI protocol subset
Fibre channel is SCSI protocol
etc
