Why did you uninline verify()? It actually increases the size of
security.o:

w/ inline
$ size security/security.o
   text data bss dec hex filename
   1925 0 4 1929 789 security/security.o

w/out inline
$ size security/security.o
   text data bss dec hex filename
   1957 0 4 1961 7a9 security/security.o

Also, I think the fixup should go directly in verify, since they are
always called together. Otherwise, this looks good. Thanks, it's been
sorely needed.
