There's a small typo inside and that is that :

should read
"Not only did the suse9.1 kernel 2.6.5 ..
I can't reproduce any of the problems you described there on our SuSE 9.1
hosts... Everything runs fine here,no matter if we use the command line
or xcdroast. Must be sth. special to your hardware.
Of course, the 2.6.5 kernel is already old in generel, so I guess you
should have checked a newer kernel.
And when you only use the command line anyway, I guess you checked the
dvd+rw-tools that SuSE ships with 9.1 before being "bitterly disappointed
at SuSE 9.1" :-) Note that you need the version from their update directory
to run with subfs, but this versions indeed runs fine.
