Kiekvienas iš mūsų turi nuotraukų, kuriose užfiksuoti, įamžinti mums brangūs žmonės, svarbūs įvykiai, lankytos vietos, mylimi naminiai gyvūnai. Taip pat ir tų, kuriose užfiksuoti mūsų protėviai ir jiems svarbūs įvykiai. Sunku nepastebėti atsiradusių dėmių ir ibrėžimų, ir vis labiau blunkančių spalvų. Ar dažnai dingteli mintis, kad jas galima atgaivinti?

O skaitmeninės nuotraukos? Neblunkančios, neįgaunačios laiko dėmių ir fizinių įbrėžimų, saugomos kompiuterio atmintyje, kompaktinėse plokštelėse ir kitokiuose duomenų laikikliuose? Ar dažnai šauna mintis, kad ir jas galima kiek pataisyti, paryškinti, įdėti akcentą, išskirti svarbias detales, išimti nepageidaujamas ar į kadrą atsitiktinai patekusius, mums nepažystamus, svetimus žmones?

Everyone of us has photos where dear people, important events, loved pets and interesting places are captured. Everyone also has photos where one's grandparents are immortalized. It is quite difficult not to notice all the damages, scratches and fading. Does the idea of restoration often flash across the mind?

And what about digital photos? They are unfading, resistant to the spots of time, scratches and other physical damages. How often the idea of repairing, retouching and development crosses the mind? The mind of removing undesirable people or strangers occurs in the head even more rarely.
