That's some really odd code structure.

	if (!(flags & (LOOKUP_FOLLOW | LOOKUP_CONTINUE | LOOKUP_DIRECTORY |
		        LOOKUP_OPEN | LOOKUP_CREATE)) &&
	    path->dentry->d_inode)
		return -EISDIR;

would do the same.
