Yes .. and No ..
We shouldn't be there in the first place :-)

Since now every miscalculation in the needed slots leads to a nice remote DOS attack ..
(since we now crash the vif kthread)
it would be nice to have a worst case slot calculation .. with some theoretical guarantees
