Good point. From hci.h:

And then:
struct nfc_hci_dev {
...
struct nfc_hci_pipe pipes[NFC_HCI_MAX_PIPES];
...
}
I think the correct fix would be to change it to:
struct nfc_hci_pipe pipes[NFC_HCI_MAX_PIPES + 1];
