Yeah, should check fid before "v9fs_fid_lookup", how about

if (iattr->ia_valid & ATTR_FILE) {
fid = iattr->ia_file->private_data;
WARN_ON(!fid);
}
If (!fid)
fid = v9fs_fid_lookup(dentry);
...
