It's probably worth noting that this is still a draft specification,
and that future changes to that specification (which will be
forthcoming) will be reflected in future patches.
(Nit: Also maybe remove the '.' from the end of the link. It does
actually work, but it's cleaner without.)

This patch is great, thanks! I'd love to see it get in for 5.16.
I tested in in a few different situations, and it seemed to work well
in all of them.
One exception was the KFENCE tests (and presumably the Thunderbolt
ones, too), which run at an odd time and leave the test numbers
incorrect. That's a bug in the tests (and possibly the KUnit
executor), I've posted this patch to fix it:

My only real desire is that we get rid of the error when a KTAP test
plan line is missing. With this patch, everything works pretty well in
that case anyway, so there's no need for an error. This will be needed
as a prerequisite for making test parameters subtests, as it's not
necessarily known in advance how many parameters the generate will
produce.
Otherwise, there are a couple of minor nitpicks, but it looks good to me:

I'm not convinced we want to error on this: parameterised tests don't
know how many parameters they'll generate in advance, so when we
convert those to use subtests, we'll get an error for every test with
subtests.
Note that if we get rid of that, there are a few bits of the
documentation / tests which may need updating, too.
As an example of what this error looks like for parameterised tests:
