Right, this is a userland tool.

I do not mind either way.

BTW, this makefile is somewhat corrupted
because ../greybus_protocols.h does not exist.
(but it is working, relying on the built-in rules)



If Arnd does not mind sending v4, maybe we
can split this into two paches:

1/4 : add -Wno-shift-negative-value where -Wextra is used
2/4 : Kbuild: move to -std=gnu11




1/4 adds -Wno-shift-negative-value
whether it is the kernel space or user-land.
