Sorry, I meant printing the value of the error code in the message, the
err variable. dev_err() is probably good too actually, as this isn't
meant to happen.

Yes it could. It's really up to you whether you want to use it here,
elsewhere or nowhere :-) I mentioned it because I've found it very
useful in multiple drivers. Maybe regmap should even have a similar API.
