Applied to `rust-next` -- thanks everyone!
As mentioned earlier, I have moved to 1.71.1 instead that got released
meanwhile, since it does not require any changes w.r.t. this one
except the obvious ones and it is likely the one that people would
like to use/have (so less warnings).
