The inclusion of display support was not intended in the initial patch, 
and it was not ready at the time this series was submitted. Since the 
display patch set was not submitted by me, its timing could not be 
controlled. If preferred, the display-related changes can be merged into 
this patch in the next revision to maintain consistency.
