Hi, the hp-wmi driver currently lacks support for the board ID *8BAB*,
which is used in the *HP Omen 16-wf0008la* laptop.

Due to the absence of this board ID in the driver's device tables, the
driver does not bind correctly to the hardware. Consequently,
platform-specific features such as thermal profile management,
Omen-specific hotkeys, and WMI event handling are currently unavailable for
this model.

Relevant DMI information for hardware enablement:

-

*System Vendor:* HP
-

*Product Name:* HP OMEN Laptop 16-wf0008la
-

*Board ID:* 8BAB

Verification via dmidecode:

$ sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name

*OMEN by HP Gaming Laptop 16-wf0xxx*

$ sudo dmidecode -s baseboard-product-name
*8BAB*

I am available to test any patches or provide additional technical logs to
assist in adding support for this board.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for reporting. This seems like an easy fix. To make sure we don't
lose any details due to mail formatting issue, let's move the discussion
to the Bugzilla entry that you have opened (#220639).

Please upload the output of the following directly to that bug report. I
will track the progress there and will notify you when I have a test
patch ready.

$ sudo modprobe ec_sys
$ sudo xxd /sys/kernel/debug/ec/ec0/io
