Thanks for your follow-up and for your patience on this.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. 
I have already started the changes we discussed, but the progress 
is slower than I originally planned,

because I’ve been occupied with a number of urgent customer issues recently, 
which has left me less time than expected to work on the refactoring. I’m afraid I 
won’t be able to return to the refactoring work for about three months. I understand 
this is a long delay, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience it may cause to you and the 
upstream review process. 

I plan to continue with it once my schedule frees up. I’ll also give you a heads-up 
before I start so you know the timeline is active again.

Again, sorry for the delay, and thank you for your understanding.
