This patch only affects a single driver, not the entire hardware
monitoring subsystem as the subject suggests.

Either case, the adm1031 driver is more than 20 years old.
It is quite unlikely that any modern hardware still uses
a chip supported by this driver. Please refrain from making
changes to such drivers unless it fixes a real bug and you
can show that the driver is still used.
