Okay I installed 1.3.6 and /usr/bin/setfont works again. But it appears that
my fonts are not installed the same way as before. I used to use an 8 pixel
font originated from the IBM code page 437 (which Linux uses as well) taken
from SIMTEL. But now my umlauts are gone. When I hit an ä (sorry if this
does not come through, it's an a-umlaut or adiaeresis as called in .Xmodmap)
I get a big sigma (sum symbol). What happened? Does Linux need other fonts
or other keymaps now? BTW the same problem comes when using the default8x9
font.
