DFS is also distributed file system (netsearch for DFS/DCE). It would be
great to have support for some form of distributed file system in Linux.
Someone already mentioned that the AFS client is available (no clue
where), but there is no server.
Also, concerning the size of the kernel and old unused code. Why not just
make a Disabled directory somewhere next to the v1.3 distribution
directory, and archive the extfs code and stuff there? Actually, thats
not even necessary because it will always be available in the previous
linux-1.3.x.tar.gz files. But, someone could maintain it and have it
patch easily into the recent kernels -- in which case there would be a
user base for extfs... I say just kill it :>
