I got these messages from /var/log/messages which did not contain
all of the text displayed during boot, but they were display shortly
after init was started.
I thought process 73 was crond, but a copy of that is running in
process 74. Process 152 is the lpd server.
I am not sure what is happening here, but I have never seen this
broken flock() message before.
Also, neither 1.3.94 or 1.3.95 will compile the kernel for me. I get
the follow error:
> $ time make zImage
> gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-1.3.95/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strength-reduce -pipe -m486 -DCPU=486 -c -o init/main.o init/main.c
> cpp: output pipe has been closed
> gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11

The 1.3.93 kernel compiled both 1.3.94 and 1.3.95 kernels with no
apparent problems.
My configuration:
- 486-PSD-IO motherboard with builtin NCR 53c810 and IDE controller
- 486/DX2 66 MHz CPU
- 32 MB of memory (4 - 4x36-60ns)
- SoundBlaster 16 sound card
- 3c503 Ethernet card (thinnet)
- Paradise S3 864 PCI graphic card (2 MB)
- I/O card with 2 - 16550A serial ports
- Acer 56L 15" monitor
- Cardinal 28.8Kb modem
SCSI devices (IDE is disabled)
- CONNER Model: CFP1060S 1.05GB Rev: 213C
- FUJITSU Model: M2684S-512 Rev: 2026
- QUANTUM Model: PD210S Rev: 527
- TOSHIBA Model: CD-ROM XM-3401TA Rev: 2873
- CIPHER Model: ST150S2 (QIC150) Rev: G76M
I am back to running 1.3.93 until I find a kernel that can compile
itself.
