Linux-1.3.95 strange error on v-terms

sorry if I posted this twice.
I compiled 1.3.95 this morning and noticed an error

Apr 24 19:48:57 swamp kernel: fcntl_setlk() called by process 55 with
broken flo
ck() emulation

this only happens when I use the vterminals , never when I use rlogin ,
telnet, or xterm.
I am wondering whether or not anyone else has seen this problem ... and
if so if there is a fix for it.
This is in slace 3.0.0 on a p150
