Just a quick report-back on my ftp corruption problems that I reported
seeing (file 1 byte short, corrupt blah, ncftp, blah, blah) ...
It would appear as if Linux is innocent. Shame on me for suspecting it in
the first place. I was originally connecting via CSLIP with slirp-0.9g
running on the CSLIP host. Sometime during 1.3.8x that changed to
slirp-1.0c which tested out OK for transfers back and forth to the CSLIP
host and so I stupidly ignored it. Transfers further afield however seem
to turn up corrupt. Going back to 0.9g has made the problem go away and I
am happily ftp'ing stuff back and forth running 1.3.96 right now.
Thanks to all the people who offered suggestions about what it might be.
Cheers,
