net garbage..

for the past 3 - 4 days i've been getting crashing overnight for no
reason...the system just won't come back up...but most of all, my net
traffic just stops....i have to keep reinitiating ftp's, and popclient.
sometimes i can dl a whole meg other times i can't even get a prompt...
the socket connections never seem to die either...

HELP!!!!
