1.3.96: OOPs w/ proc fs.

With 1.3.96, I regularly get an minor OOPS when reading /proc/ioports.
It is not minor, and happens only when the serial module is NOT loaded.
(i.e. insmod serial.o will fix it). It appears to be minor, the
machine still continues on afterward.

The oops seems to come from vsprintf. I'll have to decode the rest of
the oops log tomorrow, as ksymoops just seg faults on it.

The only patch I use is one that I posted here earlier for making
the serial mod be quiet when loading. I'll test tomorrow to see
if that is the problem.
