I've had this occasionally too, on different machines, with 1.3.81,
1.3.90 and 1.3.94. Once with 1.3.90 it was while doing a backup from
SCSI disk onto SCSI tape, and shortly after the tape driver stopped
working with a message about being unable to allocate a buffer. After
that I couldn't use the tape at all until I rebooted.
