I switched VT's from X (XFree 3.1.2) to a text terminal and back again,
within a second or so. As a result, the graphics card froze.
Telnetting in from the outside still worked (I used a HP for that), but
in what may or may not be a related phenomenon, some keystrokes hung
for a couple of seconds.
Rebooting from the outside didn't reset the graphics card sufficiently;
I had to halt the system and cycle power to get a good reset. Nothing
was logged anywhere.
