I hadn't thought about the issue of copyright messages but I think in
general it would be nice to be able to turn off most of the messages.
Its confusing to users who don't understand what it all means. The
messages should all still go to the log file so that you can see them
later if you are diagnosing a problem. Maybe if there was a way to
seperate messages into those that must appear at the start (hardware
failures and copyright messages) vrs all the extra info spewed by the
various drivers as they start up.
It really comes down to whether anyone thinks its a good idea for non-
technical people to be able to run Linux.
