: the sbpcd driver is one that drastically needs shutting up,
: it shouldn't probe unless told too and should

Take my protest.
All you need is to change a "1" into a "0" to enforce the wanted "shutup",
and personally you should know that, and you should know why I chose
this verbosity and probing level as the "delivery default".
During "new installs", especially with new users, some transparency about
the CDROM situation is a must.
I guess it is well-documented even for a newbie how to configure sbpcd
for silence and efficiency.
