Alan,
there are still people who are a bit sensitive to noise (more than us :)
who won't agree with your idea. They'd even risk 80 % of their machine's
speed for silence (well there are few PCs without a fan, but silent fans
_do_ exist, and Sparc SLCs don't have a fan, either :)
So let them do if they want.
