swap in linux 2.0.0

I have noticed on my computer (pentium 150 , 32 megs ram , 78megs swap ,
3.5 gig hdd) that the swap seems to fill up when I am away from my
computer ... only to 9 or so meg for a day and a half ... but it is more
than what I saw with 1.9.14 . Is this a bug .... or is there some
process that uses the swap while the machine is idle?
