Maybe I am exagerating, but let me tell my wish.
I remember a discussion on the management of the swap memory:
Linus wanted to have an interactively used workstation, whereas
somebody else, (sorry i dont remember his name) mentioned the
sunos way, where the goal was to handle better batch jobs submitted
on that machine. These two approaches were totally different.
So, cant we have a kernel config option asking for what kind of usage
of the Linux is intended, interactive or batch oriented?
I dont know if this is easy to implement, but I guess it would be a nice
feature.
