Just answer "N" to "NCR53c7,8xx scsi support" and then you will be
prompted for "NCR53C8XX SCSI support". Then answer "Y".
Only one of the both drivers can be included into a kernel image.

With "make xconfig", NCR53C8XX driver select button appears at the bottom of
the scsi drivers window.
