ppp dies in 2.0.6 and 2.0.7

Hi,

For some reason, network connections hang 6-7 seconds after I
invoke pppd under Linux 2.0.6 and 2.0.7. Is this a known problem? I
could provide more information, but I don't know what kind of info
I should provide.
