When pppd comes up (I'm running diald to bring up my link as needed), I
see literally tens of thousands of interrupts per second if I'm in X. If I
switch to a text vc then the storm dies out and things proceed in a
reasonable manner.
The result of this is that my system almost (but not quite) hangs If X
is active at the same time as ppp.
The interrupts appear to be coming from the serial device, but I can't
for the life of me figure out how X could be affecting this. Has anyone
else seen anything like this? It's made it effectively impossible to run X
windows which is not acceptable to me. Any ideas/suggestions greatly
appreciated.
