Feel free to read that error message and think about it a little. "No
space left", when you're using a compiler to *write* large numbers of
object and executable files to your hard disk (which is a "device", by
the way). "make zlilo" causes the kernel image to be *written* out to your
root filesystem (which is also stored on a disk "device"). *Writing*
output to a block device (your hard disk) which has a finite amount of
free space left continues to deplete the free space until ...
Give up?
You're out of disk space. Go delete something.
Or maybe you've got your /etc/lilo.conf pointing at a floppy drive,
and you forgot to put your lilo boot disk in the floppy drive. I think
you'd get a different message, though.
