posix realtime support - 1003.1b ???

So Posix 4 no longer exists, it seems.

I've got a comms system ( HDLC, DDCMP, in-house protocols ) where
realtime priority scheduling could be useful.

Does the current kernel provide posix realtime support aka 1003.1b? Are
there any add-ons for realtime programming? Is any-one working on this?
Can I help?

And can any-one tell me whether I can get the current draft / standard
for 1003.1b electronically from somewhere?
