Problems with new kernels

I have had problems compiling kernels since I upgraded to 2.0.8. Every
time I try to compile newer kernels like 2.0.9 or 2.0.10 my machine hangs.
I go to the older kernels (earlier then 2.0.8) everything work great. Did
any one notice this behaviour ?
