ifconfig patches for 2.1.25+

Not actually patches, but big hints to the clueful :-). This is a
quick kludge that will get you rolling, not a proper fix.

(1) Get net-tools-1.32-alpha.
(2) Modify ifconfig.c as follows:

(a) define __KERNEL__ prior to including <linux/netdevice.h>,
then undef __KERNEL__

(b) Modify the call to sscanf() in if_getstats() to handle
the additional members of the stats structure (of type
net_device_stats as defined in <linux/netdevice.h>).
